Parent’s money bought the car. If it’s an older person, he bought it before he lost his job and is delivering food to make payments while looking for a job.
I’ve seen an older fellow delivering pizza in a late-model Mercedes.

In the right area a full time (50-60 hrs / week) delivery driver can make $40K+ annually, even at minimum wage. If you’re unmarried with little-to-no debt, that’s plenty of money for a car payment. And with the wear it puts on a car, I bet it’s nice to have a warranty.

Tips is where the money is at. When I was a delivery driver I was averaging over $10 an hour from tips alone. Plus compensation for gas and of course hourly wage.
It’s the best paying job you can get as a teenager by far.

When I delivered pizza I made 11-12 bucks an hour. I only made 5.5/hour but after tips, and mileage I brought home another 80 dollars a night on average. So 15 bucks an hour less gas and vehicle maintenance. Of coarse the scary part was never really knowing how much money you’d make, since 70% of your income was tip, but being 19, living rent free, it never really had to worry about it.
Also I lived in a small town, about 8,000 people, also we had an approximate 10 mile delivery radius. I would imagine the potential to make good money would be high living in an urban area.
